What is House Jerome
Well it is not a nursery school, and it is not a day-care center. It is a shelter for abandoned babies and children needing Crisis Care ( who sometimes grow a bit bigger and stay a bit longer…!)

Why does it exist
To create a safe caring and loving family-orientated environment for children in need of safe shelter. We work to heal and stabilize, to nurture and motivate, to take children from broken to better! Our mission is to prepare abandoned babies and children in crisis as well as possible for their long-term future.

Where do the little ones come from
Needy children are sent by several major Welfare Organizations and Departments in Gauteng and Mpumalanga the child Protection unit of the SAPS, Government hospitals, or (directly) by the Commissioner of the children’s court. Each child is monitored by a social worker from the referring organization, and all placements are strictly according to the law, with court orders from the Children’s court.

Where do they go to
Some to adoptions, some to long-term foster care. Some eventually go back to their families.
